Why can't I reach certain extensions in my number range on the phone system?
Is the phone number set to the correct mode?
If you have registered a number block in a phone system, it is important that it is set to the “Trunk” type in the phone settings in my.easybell. After that, all extensions, e.g., 00 to 99, should be forwarded to your phone system. Please note that the main number cannot be reached without an extension.
Does the extension belong to your number block?
If you have a block that does not correspond to a power of 10—i.e., does not include 10, 100, or 1,000 extensions—then, of course, only the extensions following the main number that belong to you will be reachable. So, for example, if you have the 30-number block 030 123 (00-29), you are naturally not reachable on extensions 30 through 99.
Have you defined a drop-off point for the extension?
Of course, another important factor in the reachability of extensions is that you define a fallback destination for an extension. Your phone system must therefore know where to route the extension. It is best to define a catch-all rule so that all extensions that have not yet been assigned are forwarded, for example, to the switchboard.
Have you perhaps set up extracted extensions?
With extracted extensions, you can move individual extensions out of the trunk into a separate SIP account. However, this means that calls to this extension and all subordinate extensions are no longer routed to the phone system via your trunk. For example, if you have created the extracted extension 030 123-1, then not only is this number no longer reachable via trunk 030 123, but neither are the extensions 030 123-(10-19). Of course, you can also set up an extracted extension in your PBX, but it is not dial-through capable (does not support SIP-DDI).
So even if you enter an extracted extension in the PBX, you can no longer differentiate between the other extensions. All subordinate extensions are always forwarded to the extracted extension.
Therefore, if in doubt, use extracted extensions only for the longest extension variant in your numbering scheme.
