We secure your telephone connection

Many customers are concerned about the security of their connections when using IP-based telephony. And indeed, telephone systems and VoIP providers are regularly targeted by hackers. Calls preferably made abroad are billed to the attacked customer: The hacker and the person being called abroad share the charges incurred. For example, at €1/minute and two voice channels, fraudsters could earn almost €3,000 within a day.

easybell has been investing in the security of its telephony infrastructure for years. This enables us to detect cases of fraud before major damage occurs. We are so convinced of these mechanisms that we now offer our customers a fraud protection guarantee. Our guarantee applies automatically and free of charge to all our tariff offers - so that you can always rely on easybell. In concrete terms, this means that in the event of misuse of your telephone connection for international calls, you will incur maximum costs of €20 for private customers and €10 per booked voice channel for business customers.

This is how we can guarantee the security of your connection

Hackers always proceed in a similar way and attacks often follow a certain pattern. We have been able to work out an algorithm that is very accurate after several years of continuous perfection. If new attack patterns emerge, additional security rules come into play that at least limit the damage.

As a rule, we proactively detect abusive phone calls abroad before you even notice, so that you as a private individual or your company are protected from major financial damage caused by hacker attacks.

How our fraud protection guarantee works

The fraud protection guarantee always applies if the telephone calls abroad indicate misuse and the customer has not acted with gross negligence or intent. Costs arising from regular calls, e.g. if access data has been passed on to third parties, are not covered.

Despite our fraud protection guarantee, you should take precautionary measures to prevent a claim from occurring in the first place. Your duty of care includes using the latest firmware version of your telephone system or VoIP end device and changing the default passwords.
