We process personal data collected via the Easybell app in accordance with the applicable legal provisions on data protection and data security. For Austrian customers, these include, in particular, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG) and the Telecommunications Act 2021 (TKG 2021).

2. Purpose of data processing

To ensure the service functions correctly, certain data must be processed which falls within the definition of ‘personal data’ as set out in Article 4(1) of the GDPR. This data is stored and processed solely for the purpose of enabling the service’s functions.

3. Location

Personal data is stored on servers in Germany.

4. Duration

Personal data is necessary for the proper operation of the service. It will continue to be processed for as long as the service is used. If you decide to stop using the service and uninstall the app, all personal data can be deleted on request. Exceptions to this are data collected on the basis of the customer relationship with easybell GmbH (which is subject to easybell GmbH’s general data protection provisions), as well as data which we are required to retain in order to fulfil a legal obligation requiring processing under EU law or the law of the Member States, in accordance with Article 17(3) of the EU GDPR.

5. Your rights: access, rectification, erasure

You have the right to access your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it rectified (Art. 16 GDPR), to have it erased (Art. 17 GDPR) and to restrict processing (Art. 18 GDPR).

Rectification. If the data processed via the app is inaccurate or incomplete, please contact us using the contact details provided above. We will rectify the data without delay.

Erasure. To have the data collected via the app erased, please uninstall the app and inform us of your request for erasure using the contact details provided above. Please note that the use of the Easybell app depends on the processing of this data and that the app cannot operate without it. For data arising from the customer relationship, please refer to section 4.

The data processed is derived from your entries in the app and from the customer data held by easybell GmbH.

6. Data collected

6.1 IP addresses

When using features that require server components such as push notifications or other web services, the IP address and browser information may be logged by the servers. The logs are automatically rotated, and the information they contain is only processed when resolving specific issues or where required by law.

We use the operating system-level DNS resolver on macOS and iOS. On other platforms, we attempt to use the DNS servers provided by the operating system. Should this fail for any reason, we may connect to root name servers as a fallback.

6.2 Usage data

For billing purposes, the servers record whether the app has been actively used during the current month. This data is collected using a pseudonymised identifier reported by the app when it is in use.

6.3 Push notifications

For push notifications to work, we need to register your account remotely whilst the Easybell app is running in the background or is closed on your iOS or Android device. To do this, we transfer your SIP account details to SIPIS (our server that processes push notifications) via a secure HTTPS connection. This information is not shared with anyone and is deleted when the push session expires (usually within 3–6 days, depending on the configuration of the SIP account) or when the user disables push notifications within the app.

If the SIP account is configured to use one of our multitasking methods instead of push notifications, this information is not sent to SIPIS.

6.4 Crash reports and diagnostics

To ensure the stability and performance of our app, we use Firebase Crashlytics, a crash reporting service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. This service helps us to identify and resolve technical issues by collecting pseudonymised crash reports when the app encounters an error. By default, Firebase Crashlytics does not collect any data that allows for your direct identification.

The data collected includes:

  • Device model and operating system version
  • App version and build number
  • Stack traces and logs relating to crashes
  • Time and frequency of crashes
  • Application installation ID (Firebase Installation UUID)
  • Other technical details that help with diagnosing issues

Your IP address may be processed temporarily for routing purposes, but is not stored or logged by Crashlytics.

This data is used exclusively for troubleshooting and to improve the stability of the application. It helps us:

  • diagnose and resolve crashes
  • improve the reliability and performance of our app
  • to understand how crashes affect different devices and operating system versions

We do not use Crashlytics to track user behaviour or create profiles. Crash reports are processed on Google’s servers; in doing so, data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. For this transfer, we rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. Crash reports are deleted after 90 days.

Further details on Google’s processing of crash data can be found in Google’s Privacy Policy and in Firebase’s Privacy and Security Guidelines.

7. Data portability

You have the right to request a copy of your personal data.

8. Complaints

You have the right to contact the relevant supervisory authority:

Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, Austria

If you are not resident in Austria, you may also contact the data protection authority in your country of residence.

9. Changes to this privacy policy

This privacy policy may be amended if legal, technical or organisational changes make this necessary. The current version on our website shall apply at all times.
